Pyongyang 'willing to fulfil duties'

By Li Xiaokun | China Daily | Updated: 2008-04-29 07:33

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea's (DPRK) top diplomat yesterday reaffirmed Pyongyang's will to push forward denuclearization and said his country was willing to work with other parties to fulfill each other's responsibilities.

Pak Ui-chun, foreign minister of the DPRK, made the remarks during talks with his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi in Beijing.

The four-day visit, which began on Saturday, came amid stalled efforts to get Pyongyang to comply with an accord signed at Six-Party Talks in February last year, under which it agreed to declare all its nuclear activities by the end of 2007, as well as US accusations that the DPRK tried to help Syria build a nuclear reactor.
