Aunty La's fight for the children

XICHANG, Sichuan: Lugu Lake is known as the home of the Mosuo people, who still live in a matriarchal society in the remote mountains between Sichuan and Yunnan provinces of Southwest China. But it is also home to several other ethnic minorities, such as Tibetan and Yi people.

Working as a ticket collector at the entrance of the Lugu Lake Scenic Region in Liangshan prefecture, Sichuan, La Ying is straightforward like many other Mosuo women.
