Russia, DPRK sign rail deal

Russia yesterday signed a long-awaited deal to rebuild a railway line to Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), a step Moscow says could eventually boost trade between the secretive state and Republic of Korea (ROK).

Under the deal, the two countries will renovate the rail line from Russia's border town of Khasan to the DPRK port of Rajin, where sea cargo to and from ROK could be unloaded.
