EU bill on China-Africa ties refuted

China yesterday refuted a European Parliament resolution accusing it of supporting "oppressive" African governments, calling for a stop to such "antagonistic and provocative" actions.

The European Parliament passed the resolution on Wednesday, saying China's non-conditional investment in those African countries helped fuel China's energy demand at the expense of the human rights situations.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said the resolution was inaccurate and "extremely irresponsible".
