The state-of-emergency imposed in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou, following an outbreak of hepatitis A was lifted on Wednesday, the head of the local health bureau said yesterday.

In late March, 351 people were reported as being infected with the disease, with 330 of them diagnosed as carriers, the official said. As of Tuesday, 46 people had returned home from hospital, while the remainder were said to be in a stable condition. No further cases have been reported.
