Why wary Tse prefers pandas to paramours
Ahhhh-so, my buddy Jackie Chan has jumped in with both feet about the Olympic torch relay and is threatening to chop protestors down to size if they approach him when he carries the sacred flame in Beijing shortly. Our action hero said at the launch of his latest blockbuster, Forbidden Kingdom, that troublemakers would experience his martial arts expertise first hand if they tried any funny business.
Perhaps Jet Li could team up with him again, as part of the security detail? I'm a peace-loving man but attacking our disabled torchbearer, "Smiling Angel" Jin Jing, was the straw that broke the dragon's back. Like Chan I'm taking action and will be adding a heart sign to my MSN in support of the homeland as soon as I get online.
Hon Hai chairman Terry Gou has been desperately seeking "Mrs Right" since his wife tragically died of cancer in 2005. It's often said that women are attracted to rich and powerful men. Gou's problem is that he's looking for a lady who's interested in love rather than money.
Enter stage right 34-year-old dance instructor Delia Zeng, who was spotted with the man rated No 160 on the world's billionaire list when they took a trip to Macao. Gou reportedly said of the fragrant Zeng: "I don't get the smell of money off her," meaning she wasn't after his cash. Unfortunately, friends of the dancer are now saying it's true, she really doesn't want his money, or anything else to do with him. Poor Gou.
While Nicholas Tse (pictured right) doesn't have Gou's money he does have problems with his love life. The actor/singer is by now versed in the wiles of women after his wife Cecilia Cheung was exposed (literally) for having a tryst with Edison Chen, possibly around the same time as the couple were about to get married two years ago.
Making the best of a bad situation, Tse is thinking of moving from the hotbed of Hong Kong to the panda and spice capital of the world, Chengdu. Along with Yumiko Cheng (a singer famous for what she calls "wardrobe malfunctions" revealing her breasts) and actress Fan Bingbing, Tse perused several luxury apartments. Asked if he would be buying one, Tse said he would love cuddly pandas as neighbors. You can trust pandas, they don't play around.
Standards are slipping at the nation's broadcaster CCTV. One week after Evening News anchor He Hongmei was caught on camera touching up her makeup, the Morning News World's Wen Jing was seen yawning, thinking she had a moment to herself. Netizens are asking: "What's wrong with CCTV?"
The normally impeccable Wen issued a letter of apology and friends rushed to her defense, saying it was a tough job reading the news. Yeah, right, and being a migrant worker on a construction site is a walk in the park. Hey, you won't catch me yawning or applying makeup during a performance, I do that before I go on stage. Wake up, ladies!
