Court to weigh in on kindergarten punishments

A court in Zhengzhou on Monday held a public hearing for a lawsuit filed by the parents of a three-year-old boy after teachers at his kindergarten locked him in a closet and forced him to stand still to punish him for his slow performance at school.

The boy, surnamed Li, had been placed in an advanced class and had trouble keeping up with his older classmates.
