While his wife and their daughter live a hard life at their rural home, he lives comfortably in the city.

Pang and Li, residents of Chongqing municipality, married four years ago, and Pang went to the city to work six months later. That was the last time he ever visited his family, and has not sent them any money. He has called them twice in the past two years.
