People suffering from in an inability to concentrate will take heart from the results of a study by Professor Zhang Houcan of Beijing Normal University, who has found chewing gum can help people focus.

"Those who chew gum are more prone to concentrate, ignore distractions and fulfill their duties," Zhang was quoted as saying in a press release.

In response to a survey that found more Chinese youths are facing concentration problems in their daily studies, Wrigley, a gum maker, launched the 2008 China Youth Concentration Plan in Beijing.
