Major party quits govt
Officials say one of the major parties in Nepal's ruling coalition has quit the government after dramatic elections losses to former rebels in last week's polls for a constitutional assembly.
Foreign Minister Sahana Pradhan says she and her colleagues from the Nepal Communist Party (United Marxist-Leninist) handed the party's resignation to Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala yesterday after a poor performance in the April 10 election.
