Schools reopen after threat

Two US colleges returned to normal class schedules after a promised doomsday scrawled in graffiti came and went without incident, but one university in southwest Chicago remained closed yesterday.

Administrators at St. Xavier University told students and nonessential personnel to stay away from the Catholic liberal arts college, where a bathroom message reading "Be prepared to die on 4/14" resulted in an empty campus on Monday.
