Ramirez, Papelbon lead Red Sox past Yankees
BOSTON: Manny Ramirez drove in three runs and Jonathan Papelbon delivered a key strikeout of Alex Rodriguez to lead the Boston Red Sox to a clutch 4-3 victory over the New York Yankees on Saturday.
"It was pretty amazing," Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek told reporters after Papelbon struck out Rodriguez on a 154 kph fastball in the eighth inning following a two-hour rain delay.
"For him to be able to do that shows a lot to his teammates. It was a well-needed win for us."
