The people of Oran Town are in the grip of a virulent plague. Cut off from the rest of the world, they each respond in their own way to the challenge of the deadly bacillus. Among them is Dr Rieux, a humanitarian and healer, and it is through his eyes that we witness the course of the epidemic. The author Albert Camus argued that it was in the fight against evil that mankind finds greatness.

Just and Honorable Yu Chenglong, is adapted from sections of Wang Yongtai's novel. It tells stories of Yu Chenglong, an honest government official during the Qing Dynasty who investigates old cases, corrects wrongs and releases the innocent. Chinese with English subtitles.

CONCERTS

An array of European classical music will be played by the Shanghai Opera House Orchestra under the baton of the renowned conductor Lin Yousheng. The performance will cover a large range of compositions, from Mozart to Borodin, Sibelius to Vivaldi.

E. Groove, a young Chinese jazz band formed five years ago, will appear in a series over the next few months. They divide their music into four categories and label them with the colors purple, red, blue and silver. On April 12 they will present their first show of the series, Jazz Color - Purple.
