National defense drill
Air raid sirens sounded throughout Israel yesterday as civilians were brought into a 5-day national defense drill testing responses to war and other emergency situations.
One gap in the country's emergency response system turned out to be the sirens themselves: They didn't go off in some locations, including parts of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
