Neighbors trade blame

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) yesterday rejected ROK's appeals to ease rising tension on the peninsula, while the South's new president scolded the North for recent provocations and urged it to engage in talks.

In a statement sent to the South, the North's military threatened to take "military countermeasures" against its capitalist neighbor, according to the North's state media.
