Kindergarten in a bind after tying up students
A kindergarten that tied its students' hands together during a recent trip to a park in Luoyang, Henan province, has come in for criticism from locals.
The teacher had tied the children together with ribbon and was leading them around with a rope.
The head of the kindergarten said the move was intended to ensure the safety of the kids during their walk. But some parents and residents worried it would hurt their spirit and deprive them of their freedom by denying them the pleasures of playing outside.

Woman must pay after pulling out of suicide bid
Leng Mingcui, a farmer in Yunyang county, Henan province, promised Liu Minglan that she would commit suicide with her, but then survived the attempt. To punish her for her misdeed, a court recently ordered her to pay a 64,131 yuan (about $9,200) penalty.
Leng agreed that they should die together after having a fight, so they went to a local river and dove in together.
However, Leng climbed ashore while Liu drowned.
Liu's family filed a lawsuit against Leng and asked for compensation.
The Yunyang county people's court ruled in favor of the plaintiff, saying Leng had committed murder of intention.
