Police dogs surrender in face of buffalo stampede
Fifteen buffalos living in six sheds near the Jiangbin Sports Park in Quanzhou, Fujian province, have developed a taste for the delicious grass growing on a nearby golf course.
To get to the green, the buffalos must pass through a police dog training center. Two weeks ago one of the buffalos knocked a hole in one of the center's walls with its horns.
Infuriated, several dog trainers took out three police dogs in order to stop the buffalos from passing through the hole. However, to the surprise of the trainers, the dogs, which were very brave at the beginning, ran off at the sight of all of those buffalos.

Kidney donation brings kindheartedness full circle
Lu Lianmao, a 51-year-old villager in Rongcheng, Shandong province, recently donated a kidney to Wang Jichun, a uremia patient, to repay the 1,000 yuan ($140) that the latter had lent him three years ago to buy tonic for his wife, also a uremia sufferer.
In 2005, Lu was on the brink of penury after spending all of his money to treat his ailing wife, Li Shufen. Wang, who was suffering from inflammation of the kidneys at the time, was being treated at the same hospital.
In a show of sympathy for a couple he had never met, Wang gave Lu 1,000 yuan.
Deeply moved by the kindhearted man, Lu recently donated a kidney to Wang when he learned the latter's disease had developed into uremia.
