5 feared dead in air crash
Five people are believed to have been on board a private plane that crashed into residential properties in north Kent yesterday, police said.
Officers were called to the scene in Broadwater Gardens, Farnborough, at around 2:30 pm, the Metropolitan Police said.
A spokesman said five people were believed to have been on board the twin-engined aircraft. They have not yet been accounted for. There was also no information on any casualties on the ground.
Govt offers help to airport
Britain's transport secretary offered yesterday to help resolve problems at Heathrow airport's new terminal that have led to hundreds of flight cancelations, thousands of lost bags and much embarrassment.
British Airways - Terminal 5's sole tenant - canceled 37 domestic and European flights yesterday, bringing the total number of cancelations since the terminal opened on Thursday to 245. Transport Secretary Ruth Kelly said she had offered help to both British Airways and Heathrow airport operators BAA.
