By Ye Jun | China Daily | Updated: 2008-03-29 07:54

Spring is in the air and beautiful flowers are blooming all over Beijing. According to local weather reports, this year's March temperatures are 4 degrees higher than average and has prompted flowers to bloom a week earlier than normal. Beijing's parks were packed last weekend, swarming with double the amount of visitors compared to the previous week.

And everybody is attracted by the power of the flower.

The flower of yulan, or magnolia tree flowers, a large, cup-shaped, fragrant white flower, is one of the first to bloom in Beijing. These flowers bloom in late March, and linger until mid-April.
