The Guzheng is a pluck-stringed instrument with a varying number of strings. An upcoming guzheng concert in Guangzhou will gather a dozen skillful players in the city to present many different melodies. All the players are amateurs.

Das Lied Von Der Erde-Mahler Series Symphonic Concert will kick off this weekend. A bunch of world-famous musicians will get together in Xinghai Concert Hall to present this remarkable concert, including Yu Long, chief conductor of Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Warren Mok, the most famous tenor in Hong Kong, and Maxim Rysanov, one of the best violinists in the world from Ukraine.

EXHIBITIONS

The 3rd Screen-out Film Exhibition in Guangzhou has attracted a lot of well-known Chinese movie directors and music composers to bring their best works to the city. This weekend, people can still watch Young and Clueless, Iris Chang's The Rape of Nanking, and The Exam.

The first photography exhibition of Chinese folk-games is being held in Guangzhou. More than 400 photographic works taken by some 180 photographers are displayed. The folk games include the Zhuang minority swing, dragon boat race and traditional basketball.
