The Dalai Lama was the wirepuller of the riots that broke out in Tibetan regions, a senior political advisor said on Sunday.
His intention was to separate Tibet from the motherland while the country was preparing for the Beijing Olympic Games, Ngapoi Ngawang Jigme, vice-chairman of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said in an exclusive interview.
Ngapoi, 98, was born in the autonomous region's capital Lhasa and worked for the old local Tibetan government before the region's peaceful liberation in the early 1950s.
