China Daily | Updated: 2008-03-25 07:26

Dainzin Kaiqog was relieved to get a phone call from his mother telling him his family in Lhasa was safe.

The 18-year-old is studying at a Tibetan middle school in Beijing together with 800 other Tibetan children.

"Mom called me after the incident. She told me not to worry about them and said she was confident the government was capable of taking care of the situation," the boy said on Sunday.
