NATO partnership

Malta's new government said yesterday it wants to rejoin NATO's "Partnership for Peace" (PfP) program, after pulling out of it more than a decade ago over neutrality and non-alignment concerns.

"Rejoining the PfP will not affect Malta's neutrality but will enhance its participation within the EU," the government of Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said.
