Heparin exports had allergen

The potentially allergenic chemical hypersulfated chondroitin sulfate has been detected in heparin blood-thinners exported to the United States, according to a notice from China's top drug watchdog issued on Wednesday.

The findings were in line with those of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and were obtained by China's State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) when it used testing equipment and methods provided by the FDA.

The SFDA said last week it hadn't detected the chemical using its own testing methods.
