Boost in ranks of preschoolers
China's kindergartens and nurseries have increased nearly 100-fold since 1949. There were 122,107 kindergartens and nurseries in the country admitting 11,130,800 children in 1982 as against 1,301 kindergartens admitting 130,000 children in 1949.
