Call for mental health law

NPC deputies Tong Ruochun, Hou Yiping and Yang Xingping have called for national mental health legislation at the ongoing parliamentary sessions.

They said mental health problems have negative impacts on families and communities. China currently does not have a law related to mental health, the prevention and treatment of psychological diseases are not only a medical issue but also a complex social problem.
