Incentive schemes have people seeing green
To encourage local residents to not use plastic bags, several supermarkets in Weifang, Shandong province, have introduced incentives.
One supermarket offers its customers 0.1 yuan if they decline to take a plastic bag. Another supermarket offers customers a cloth bag in exchange for 10 plastic bags and two old batteries.
