Japan move on E. China Sea issue decried

By Li Xiaokun | China Daily | Updated: 2008-03-14 07:13

China yesterday decried Japanese reports that Tokyo plans to raise the issue of oil exploration in East China Sea in the international court.

The reports are a bag of completely distorted facts, Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said at a regular press briefing.

"At present, Japan and China both believe they should set aside the issue for the overall development of bilateral ties," he said, and reiterated that China's stance on the East China Sea issue was based fully on international law.
