Ocean park set to make a splash in Pearl River

The authorities are planning to build a new ocean theme park in Lianhuashan township, Guangzhou's Panyu district.

The park will be built on an island at the mouth of the Pearl River, occupying more than 3,000 mu (200 hectares). It is scheduled to be completed and open to tourists by 2010, when the southern metropolis holds the Asia Games.
