Singer's 'Tibet' show to be probed

China Daily | Updated: 2008-03-08 09:06

The Ministry of Culture said on Friday it will investigate Icelandic singer Bjork's Shanghai concert during which she shouted "Tibet" at the end of an unapproved song, Declare Independence.

Bjork's "political show has not only violated Chinese laws and regulations and hurt the feelings of the Chinese people, but also went against the professional code of an artist," it said on its website.

The ministry said it will handle the matter according to the law upon the completion of its probe.
