Thaksin to seek permission for England trip

Thailand's deposed Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra said yesterday he will seek court permission for a trip to England, his first journey abroad since returning home to face criminal charges.

The trip apparently would include attending a key soccer match of the Premier League club Thaksin owns.

He told reporters yesterday he will ask to leave the country beginning on March 13.
