Jinan home to machine tool powerhouse

JINAN: JIER Machine Tool Group Co Ltd has been working on orders for more than 10 multinationals since January and its S4-1000 punch press, about to be shipped to Australia, is undergoing a final test.

"We aim to develop into a top world-class machine tool maker and win international recognition as a renowned brand," said Zhang Zhigang, chairman of JIER.

The company's LS4B-2500 straight-side four-point multilink press won second prize in the National Science and Technology Advance Awards at the 2007 National Conference on Science and Technology in January.
