Show of drinking prowess lands student in hospital

Chen, a college student from Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province, was so intent on impressing his classmates with his ability to consume liquor that he drank himself into unconsciousness and had to be sent to hospital.

On Tuesday night, he and five other students drank two bottles of hard liquor and 10 bottles of beer at a party to celebrate the start of the new term. Chen collapsed at the end of their session.
