This show, The Forbidden City, presented by famous Chinese dancer, Yangyang and her Dream Dance Workshop, combines jazz, tap, modern dance and ballet. The show describes the great changes women have experienced over the century.

The feminist film 20-30-40, starring Rene Liu and Sylva Chang, was popular with audiences at home and abroad. Now the script has been adapted for the stage, Ask Me How Much I Hate You. The drama features the lives of three women at different ages and subtly shows their love, hatred and dreams.

Patrick Marber's award-winning Broadway play Closer, made into the 2004 film starring Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Julia Roberts, is now showing at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center. In this Chinese production, contemporary relationships are delved into, touching on temptation, disloyalty and revenge. In Chinese with English subtitles.

The Icelandic singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Bjork will make her debut performance in Shanghai as part of The Volta Tour.

Exhibitions

Twenty-one European artists from 12 countries are interpreting what Europe means to them. The work draws on the theme that Europe is unified by common market forces, yet divided by blindness to the complexities of regional history and economic and social poverty.
