Developer's results
DLF Ltd, India's biggest developer, posted a third-quarter profit of 21.45 billion rupees ($544 million) on growing demand for houses, offices and hotels in Asia's third-largest economy.
Sales at the company and its units totaled 36 billion rupees in the three months ended Dec. 31, compared with 33.5 billion rupees in the second quarter, New Delhi-based DLF said yesterday in a statement to the National Stock Exchange.
Energy investment
Martinsa-Fadesa SA plans to invest 1.6 billion euros ($2.4 billion) during the next five years to build wind-power and solar-energy parks, El Economista said, citing unidentified sources.
The Madrid-based real estate company will build wind-power plants in Spain, Eastern Europe and Latin America with a total capacity of 1,000 megawatts, the paper said.
Estimate missed
Woolworths Ltd, Australia's biggest retailer, posted second-quarter revenue that missed analyst estimates as rising fuel prices and interest rates curbed growth at its supermarkets and discount stores.
Sales rose 8.3 percent to A$12.3 billion ($11 billion) in the three months ended Dec 30, Sydney-based Woolworths said yesterday.
