Secret Supper, presented by the Sine Qua Non Dance Company, one of the most significant contemporary dance collectives in Greece, is an 8-dancer, 5-musician dance piece that revolves around a table. The performance intimates at concepts such as sacrifice, betrayal, male vs. female, solitude, and angst.

This Children's opera has environmental themes: Under the leadership of Kungfu Rabbit, forest inhabitants rise up against MBA wolf who cuts down the trees and pollutes the river with the excuse of urbanizing the forest. With the influence of God Tree, the wolf changes his mind and joins hands with other animals to protect the forest from the intrusion of human.

Scholar and Executioner, presented by the Youth Troupe of Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center, is a black comedy with humorous overtones. It shows the awkwardness and sadness of a scholar and an executioner, both representatives of feudal society, when it is time for society to change. The drama was a winner at the national stage artworks competition in 2004-05.

CONCERT
Taiwan hip-pop singer Chang Chen-yue will appear at the Shanghai International Gymnastic Center on Jan 26. Chang and his long-term music partner, MC HotDog plan to turn the Gymnastic Center into a grand karaoke hall.

Exhibitions
Julian Schnabel's retrospective exhibition will be shown at the Shanghai Zendai Museum of Modern Art. The American artist is an important representative of the neo-expressionism movement. The exhibition will feature about 27 oil paintings from different periods of his life.

For the first time, masterpieces from the collection of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam will be shown in China. The exhibition includes two paintings by Rembrandt and 20 prints by the master, as well as silver objects and other paintings by Dutch artists such as Frans Hals, Jan Steen and Jacob van Ruysdael.
