Red and Black is an adaptation of Stendhal's classic 19th-century European novel The Red and The Black. It is brought to the Majestic Theater stage by director Lei Guohua, who achieved success last year with The Gadfly by Ethel Lillian Voynich.

Exhibitions

More than 50 oil paintings by Fang Shaohua, one of China's most distinguished young painters, will be on display at the Shanghai Art Museum, in Looking for Paradise.

Polluted water, melting snow-capped mountains and sad urban people are his subjects, illustrating his insights into society and the state of the environment, culture and morality.
