HR appointment

The Walt Disney Co has appointed Lawrence Chi to the newly created position of regional director of human resources for Greater China.

Working from the company's Shanghai office, Chi is responsible for human resources management and support, and the overall leadership of the Walt Disney International human resources teams covering Hong Kong, Taiwan and the mainland. His responsibilities extend across all lines of business, including Media Networks, Studio Entertainment and Disney Consumer Products.

Chi most recently served as regional director of human resources in the Asia-Pacific for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co.

Gaming CFO

Shanda Interactive Entertainment Ltd, China's largest online gaming company, announced on Tuesday that Grace Wu had been appointed as the NASDAQ-listed company's chief financial officer.

Wu joined Shanda as vice-president of strategic investments in October. Prior to Shanda, she spent five years with AU Optronics Corp, one of the world's largest manufacturers of flat panel displays, where she was responsible for financial planning and analysis, investor relations and capital markets activities.
