Norwegian legend Aamodt recovers stolen medals
OSLO: Norway's four-time Olympic ski champion Kjetil-Andre Aamodt said on Tuesday he has recovered his medal collection that was stolen four years ago.
"It's great because I really thought they were gone for good," Aamodt told public broadcaster NRK.
Aamodt is a legend in the alpine skiing world, having won more titles than any skier in history during his illustrious career, which he brought to an end in January.
In August 2003, thieves made off with 19 of his Olympic and World Championship medals that were stored in a safe at his father's house.
Aamodt said he had received an anonymous telephone call several months ago informing him that the medals had been spotted on the internet.
