Super barber

Can you imagine a barber using 10 scissors at the same time? Wang Zedong, a 41-year-old barber in Jiujiang, East China's Jiangxi Province, does. The man has set a Guinness world record by cutting a woman's hair using 10 scissors simultaneously. He said he has honed the skill for years.

Salamander checks out

A hotel in Hanzhong city in Hubei Province has been raising a giant salamander in its lobby since the 1970s in the belief that it is auspicious and will bring luck to the owner. The 40-year-old salamander is 1.6 meters long and weighs 24 kg. It did indeed help the owner prosper for 30 years, but things began to change thereafter. With the emergence of more high-end hotels, this old-style establishment began to lose money and finally decided to go out of business this year. But before closing down, the hotel found the salamander a new home - the local zoo.
