Love's a funny thing
A store specializing in humorous gifts for amorous lovers has opened in Nanjing, capital of East China's Jiangsu Province. The goods sold there are very unusual, such as a rose with underwear stashed inside its pistil and candy containing a fragrant condom covered with colorful pictures. The store's owner said many people choose to buy such funny gifts for their beloved to express their affection.
Food for thought
Several big restaurants in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, recently struck deals with wedding planning companies to offer wedding feasts. Li, who plans to get married in January, encountered a problem when he tried to contact several local restaurants to book wedding feasts: Most required Li to hire the wedding planning company they had entrusted. In addition to paying for the food, the couple also has to pay between 1,000 yuan and 2,000 yuan in advance for wedding design services.
Sweet deal
A really big orange became a really big deal at the First Orange Festival held in Zigui County, Central China's Hubei Province, to celebrate this year's harvest. The giant orange, weighing 852 grams, was awarded the festival's Orange Champion and was sold for 110,000 yuan.
