Firms listed
A total of 147 private enterprises in East China's Zhejiang Province have become listed, with their total market value reaching 80 billion yuan, Xinhua reported.
The number of publicly traded companies in the province increased to 123 in 2006 from 63 in 2002. During the first nine months this year, 24 companies were listed, raising a total of 9 billion yuan.
The province plans to encourage more of the companies based there to launch initial public offerings at home and abroad, and conduct mergers and acquisitions to restructure assets.
Logistics deal inked
Logistics associations from Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province signed an agreement over the weekend on logistics cooperation.
The three associations agreed to share information, link their websites and work together for professional training and management know-how exchanges. Tianjin Port is an important trade port for Beijing, and about 90 percent of Beijing cargo containers go through it, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce Deputy-Director Yan Xiaoyan said.
