Biz Scene: Biz Unusual

Want to declare undying love to your partner? Buy a "love certificate", which are selling like hot cakes at a Chongqing university. Brainchild of Guo Chunlong, a sophomore student, the certificates sell for 9.9 yuan apiece. Carrying the lovers' photos, it says "Award to XX and XX to commemorate their love".

Classic sculpture

Sculptor Qian Gaochao has carved the story of Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Liu Bei, the main figures in the Romance of Three Kingdoms, one of the four Chinese classics, with a huge bijou. The giant bijou is 2.4 meters long, 3.8 meters wide, and weighs 2 tons. The delicate craftwork was sold to a restaurant owner from Shanghai for 91 million yuan earlier this week. Qian said it took him six years to finish the sculpture.

Bookseller may list

Successful online bookseller Dangdang.com said it's planning to list soon. Inspired by its book-selling model, some publication agencies are vying for guest rooms in five-star hotels as sales channels.

Cao Mingyuan, a book agency manager, plans to set up a book corner at every guest room in some high-end hotels. "High-end customers in big hotels seek books on business management they can go through while resting," said Cao.
