Plants shut

Two nitrogenous fertilizer plants in South China's Hai nan Province were shut down yesterday because of suspension of natural gas supply as underwater transmission pipes were damaged during engineering work nearby.

China BlueChemical Ltd said its Fudao Phase II urea plant and CNOOC Jiantao methanol plant in Hainan were affected as the natural gas supply by a gasfield operated by CNOOC Ltd was suspended because of the damage.
