What they say about BMF
Peter Ruzicka, former director of Salzburg Festival: The BMF has been the third largest music festival, following Salzburg and BBC.
German conductor Christoph Eschenbach, who led his Orchestre de Paris to perform at the BMF in 2003 and returned to close this year's festival with pianist Lang Lang on October 26: The BMF has the best musicians, a variety of programs and internationally standardized management. Above all, it gives me hospitality and makes me feel the warmth of home.
Chinese pianist Lang Lang, who performed 10 concertos with four orchestras, five conductors in eight concerts to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the BMF: The BMF is my favorite festival. Performing here is something like playing the homecoming game, and I even don't want to leave.
Cellist Wang Jian, a regular soloist at the BMF: Without the BMF running for the last 10 years, life would go on, people would still work and Beijing would develop just as fast, but life would be dull, and we musicians abroad wouldn't have so many opportunities to perform in our homeland.
