Fat chance
If you thought it pays to be slender and lithe in showbiz, think again. A TV performance agency has put out ads seeking fat girls. The agency will create an acting team with four fat girls, and those weighing less than 100 kilograms need not apply.
Super supermarket
Fancy a supermarket where you can rest your tired feet, chat with friends over coffee and surf the Net through your laptop? Head for "Ole' supermarket" if you do. Catering to high-end customers, it recently opened in Shanghai's Financial Street. About 60 percent of its goods are imported and most products are priced a little higher than in ordinary stores. It also has a "private kitchen" that offers breakfast and has a top-class caf.
