Porsche AG, the maker of the 911 sports car, named Helmut Broeker managing director of its Chinese operations. Broeker, who worked at Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, will replace Mark Bishop to help Porsche expand in the region, the Stuttgart-based company said in a statement.

The carmaker sold 3,105 vehicles in China during fiscal year 2007 ended July 31, nearly doubling sales from the previous year.
