Nothing changes
A supermarket, hard up for small change, recently decided to get some by offering 106 yuan for 100 yuan provided it's in 0.1 yuan and 0.2 yuan. But even this rather generous offer failed to set the cashboxes jingling because of the sheer shortage of small change.
Manuscript auction
Manuscripts of modern Chinese poems are selling for the price of gold these days. An auction of Chinese poetry manuscripts was held in Beijing over the weekend. Huang Yan, an artwork collector, bought a manuscript of Li Yawei's poem Chinese language department for 1.1 million yuan at the auction.
