Special Supplement: Fair to offer fresh opportunities
A new year - and new opportunities abound. To be held from January 7 to 10, 2008 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, the Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair 2008 is the place to be for anyone in this industry, to start the year full of promise and inspiration for a fruitful 12 months.
It is definitely an event not to be missed, as the largest trade show of its kind in Asia and the second largest in the world.
The 2008 edition is set to draw more than 2,000 exhibitors from around the globe, and will include group pavilions from the Chinese mainland, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Pakistan, Spain, Thailand, and more.
Acutely aware of trends in the toys and games world, the organizer has ensured that exhibitors cover a comprehensive range of categories. Themed zones for 2008 are Hobby Goods, Baby Toys & Products, Magic, Outdoor & Sporting Items, Candy Toys, Paper Toys and Story Books.
Baby Toys & Products
The demand of parents and educators for products that not only entertain but also stimulate children's minds and motor skills has resulted in a booming market for toys and products for babies. In addition, increasing affluence in the developing world is leading to a growth in good-quality babycare products. This zone showcases baby strollers and walkers, baby feeding products, musical toys, ride-on toys, child safety products and more.
Hobby Goods
This hugely popular section focuses on a large variety of products catering to all ages. It is not just kids who have all the time and inclination to play - adults like to pursue such interests, too, from the fun to the intellectual. Among the hobby goods in this stimulating zone are models, action figures, puzzles, miniatures, collectibles and much more.
Outdoor & Sporting Items
An increased interest in health and wellbeing is boosting demand for outdoor and sporting goods, from the traditional to the new and innovative, in all age groups. The category is divided into four thematic zones, covering ball games equipment, bicycles & camping equipment, gymnasium equipment, and water-sports equipment. The Beijing Olympic Games coming up next year is sure to boost interest in the sporting goods market.
Magic
This intriguing section shines the spotlight on a fascinating category - magic. The Magic zone presents a wide range of items designed to thrill and fascinate both adults and children.
The event is held concurrently with the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair, which has established itself as one of the most prominent trade events in this category in Asia. There is a great deal of crossover between the two fairs, where buyers can explore fresh business opportunities and sourcing channels.
Buyers from outside Hong Kong can pre-register online before November 30, 2007 to receive a free admission badge by mail.
