Stocks keep rising

The Shanghai Composite Index rose 1.03 percent yesterday to close at 6092.06 points, after setting a record intra-day high of 6124.044.

Turnover in Shanghai A shares was active at 163.548 billion yuan. A total of 520 companies in the A-share market gained while 253 saw losses.

Coal output up

China Coal Energy Co, the nation's second largest producer of the fuel by sales, said output of raw coal rose 22 percent as demand increased in China. The company produced 68.73 million metric tons of raw coal from January to September, the Beijing-based company said on its website yesterday. Trading volume of the fuel was 62.74 million tons, it said.
